About Us Our Diablo Valley Chapter (DVNCL) of the National Charity League was formed in 1989 with local women who believed in the idea of mothers and daughters working together for their community. We were chartered in 1991. We quickly grew to today's membership of 160+ mothers with 180+ daughters. We are very proud that we support and meet the requests of our philanthropy clients with approximately 8,000 annual hours of volunteer service in our community.
Diablo Valley Chapter members (called Patronesses) are residents of Alamo, Diablo, and Danville, California with daughters (called Ticktockers) in 7th through 12th grades. The daughters participate in a six year program of philanthropic work, cultural, and educational activities.
National Charity League, Inc. (NCL) is a not for profit organization whose mission is "to foster Mother-Daughter relationships in a philanthropic organization commited to community service, leadership development, and cultural experiences." It began in 1925 in Los Angeles, California when a group of mothers performed philanthropic work.
Diablo Valley was the 36th chapter to join the national organization and is a part of Region IV of the chartered national chapters. We are a part of District 12 which includes the chartered chapters of Acalanes, Chico, Diablo Valley, Granite Bay, Lamorinda, Oakland-Piedmont, Pleasanton, Rolling Hills, Sacramento and Vista Oak.
